Course Introduction:

Interested in taking your MS Project skills to the next level?

It is an ongoing challenge for project managers to view and analyze critical information from individual as well as multiple projects simultaneously. Further, managing critical resources across multiple projects also poses a problem. Microsoft Project provides the capability to effectively view, analyze, and manage single projects as well as organizational portfolios concurrently.

Important: To keep up with the pace of this workshop, you must already have the following skills:
   Navigate, link tasks, copy/paste in MS Project
   Set up a project (properties, calendar, summary task)
   Create and track a project schedule
   Post actual data
   Control printing (timescale, legend, last-saved date stamp)

In this workshop, participants will develop an understanding of how to:
Create and baseline individual project plans
Address project and resource constraints
Set up and customize planning templates
Create and manage enterprise resource pools (shared resources)
Set up organizational project and resource calendars
Level resource workloads
Create organizational project portfolios and master schedules
Update individual and multiple project plans using actual information
Review progress and variance information
Effectively use filters and views / tables to review, report and publish project status
Integrate with other MS Office applications
Communicate portfolio and project status

Course Description:

This workshop will include lectures, exercises, and discussions. The emphasis is on participant discussions and exercises. Participants will be provided with a Participant Handbook.
